This was Moody’s mode of self-instruction—seeking out leaders from whom he could learn. But there is no evidence that Moody had any direct or indirect relationship with Finney, yet Finney lived until 1875. While this is an argument from silence, and hence inconclusive, I suggest that in this case the silence is likely very significant.
